MSCA DN PhD Positions in CanGoNano Project

CanGoNano is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network uniting European universities, research institutes, and industry partners to investigate glyconanomaterials — a rapidly advancing field combining chemistry, nanotechnology, glycobiology, and immunology.

Mission

The programme aims to design nanoscale systems built from carbohydrates that can interact with the immune system in highly specific ways, with applications in cancer immunotherapy, vaccines, and targeted drug delivery.

What Are Glyconanomaterials?

Glyconanomaterials are nanostructures incorporating carbohydrates to mimic or influence biological processes. Applications include:

  • Targeted delivery of antigens and mRNA
  • Immune system modulation
  • Nanocarriers for precision medicine
  • Next-generation vaccine platforms

Cyclodextrins at CarboHyde (DC-4)

Position DC-4 in Budapest explores cyclodextrins — ring-shaped sugar molecules engineered into nanocarriers capable of encapsulating therapeutic molecules, forming supramolecular assemblies, and enabling targeted delivery of biologics.

Doctoral candidates participate in structured programmes featuring international secondments, academic and industrial exposure, entrepreneurship training, and European network collaboration.
